(KTEN) — Oklahoma Gov. Kevin Stitt says the White House has approved the state's request for disaster assistance in Murray, Love and Hughes counties following Saturday's tornadoes, straight-line winds and flooding.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management said individuals and business owners in those counties can now call 800-621-FEMA or visit disasterassistance.gov to begin the process to apply for government aid.

Additional counties are expected to be added to the disaster declaration after preliminary damage assessments are complete.
