SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — A Sherman man is under arrest after allegedly making terroristic threats to Sherman and Denison high schools and to two of  Grayson County's biggest employers.

The threats to the schools and to Tyson Foods and Ruiz Foods were made in a social media post on Tuesday.

Sherman police and Sherman Independent School District police joined forces to track down a suspect, identified as 24-year-old Arthur Glenn Thomas. He is facing four counts of making terroristic threats.

"A threat to anyone in our community is taken very seriously," said Sherman police spokesperson Sgt. Brett Mullen. "We work very closely with Sherman Independent School District Police Department investigating this crime . Even though it spread from Sherman to Denison, we were investigating it as one thing. We were able to luckily and thankfully put the pieces together to find out who it was, and get this to a quick resolution."

Mullen said Thomas was arrested at his home on Thursday and was booked into the Grayson County Jail at 1:25 a.m. Friday. Bond was set at $2.5 million.

KTEN viewed the social media post that led to the arrest; its author had threatened minority groups and said Tyson and Ruiz employees who go to work on Thursday and Friday "will die."

The school districts increased campus security after the threat was received.
