Significant damage from tornadic storms in Texoma

(KTEN) – Severe storms impacted Texoma during the early overnight hours of May 25 to May 26. Storms came in “two waves”; the first impacting the I-35 corridor in Oklahoma with the second impacting North Texas.
A confirmed tornado tracked through Lake Murray in Love and Carter counties with unknown damage. We will wait for the National Weather Service office in Norman, Oklahoma to perform a storm survey with this storm.

Another confirmed tornado likely trekked from Montague County to southern Grayson County/northern Collin County. Significant damage has been observed in and around Lake Ray Roberts in Cooke County as well as a Shell truck stop between Valley View and Sanger.

According to the Denton Fire Department, multiple people were reported trapped in the building after the tornado passed over that location.
Overturned tractor trailer rigs have been observed along I-35 in Cooke County.
Lake Ray Roberts Marina observed damage to homes and boat docks from the tornadic supercell that moved over the lake.

Additional storm surveys of this North Texas storm will be performed in the coming days by the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth, Texas.
