First 90° day of the year in Sherman

SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) – We’ve done it! The first 90° day of the year has arrived in Sherman. 90° is the official high temperature for May 8, which is roughly on schedule for the first 90°+ high temperature of any given year; that typically lands around May 12. This is the first 90° high temperature since September 30, 2023.

This high does not break the current record high temperature for May 8 of 95° in Sherman, which was set back in 1928. If you aren't a fan of the heat, don't worry! A cold front is slated to move through overnight into May 9, dropping our high temperatures back down to the upper 70s to low 80s for the rest of the week.
