SULPHUR, Okla. (KTEN) — Following an announcement last week that the Chickasaw National Recreation Area would remained closed for an unknown amount of time until damage assessments are complete, park officials announced Sunday that a portion of the facility would be open starting Monday.

"Most of the Platt Historic District that is east of US Route 177 will open to the public at 8 a.m. Monday morning," according to a news release from the CNRA. "This opening includes the Southeast and Northeast Perimeter Drives, all trails east of the highway, the Travertine Nature Center and Little Niagara; however, Central Campground and Cold Springs Campgrounds will remain closed."

Areas of the park west of US 177 will remain closed until further notice.
