(KTEN) — Debris scattered across southern Oklahoma was thrown 25 to 60 miles from the path of the weekend tornadoes.

Wind-blown debris is the leading cause of injuries from tornadoes.

Objects were launched 17,000 feet in the air in Marietta, with winds that were clocked up to 170 miles and hour.

And pool noodles from the Dollar General that was destroyed in Sulphur were found on property 25 miles away in Fittstown.

Ada is 15 miles away from the nearest tornado, and residents saw debris in their yards.

"Some places got it more than others — like, for example my yard in Ada," said Ada Nissan dealership employee Jarrod Coon. "Limbs everywhere, just different stuff... but cleanup for everyone across the state, for sure."

With winds these strong, you always want to be vigilant and stay safe, whether it's a watch or a warning.

When it comes to taking shelter, keep as many walls between you and the outside as you can.
