CADDO, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The Caddo Bruins have hired Jeff Wigington as their new head football coach.

Wigington is familiar with the area. He's a Denison grad and also began his coaching career for the Yellowjackets in 2002.

Most recently, he was the offensive line coach at Plano High School.

Wigington provided the following the statement to KTEN:

"Caddo ISD is a proven winner both on the field and in the classroom. Supt. [Lee] Northcutt and Principal/AD JT Busby put kids first and that’s important to me. Our job as educators is to take care of kids. Having the opportunity to join them and at the same time get closer to our own family in both Denison and Southern Oklahoma, it was an easy yes for us. My family and I are looking forward to this next chapter in our lives."

The Bruins are coming off a 9-3 season a year ago.
