DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — Early voting began Monday for the Denison City Council and the mayor's race.

Current Denison Mayor Janet Gott is ineligible to run for another term. The two candidates to succeed Gott — Brian Hander and Robert Crawley — both had to give up their seats on the city council to make their bid.

Grayson College also has a bond proposal on the ballot.

The Whitesboro Independent School District is asking voters to approve two bond propositions totaling $118 million. The funds would be used to construct an early childhood center, an addition high school auditorium, and other projects to help the district cope with the growth in student population.

In addition, four of Whitesboro's five aldermen seats are being decided.
