GRAYSON COUNTY, Texas (KTEN) — Motorists will need to be even more cautious on Grayson County roads and highways this week as reduced speeds and road closures are posted.

There will be more cones to navigate for drivers headed southbound on US 75 as the Texas Department of Transportation begins its next round of road improvements in Grayson County.

Road work on US 75 from US 82 to North Loy Lake Road will be underway to widen the highway from four to six lanes.

Along with closures, drivers will need to watch for speed changes.

"There's a reduced speed limit in place; it is now 65 miles an hour," said TxDOT spokesperson Tim McAlavy. "Of course, in any work zone you should watch for shoulder work and frontage lane road closures."

Work also continues to rebuild the intersection of US 75 and US 82 in Sherman, as new frontage road lanes and bridges are being readied.

Plus: A full-depth concrete repair will take place nightly on US 75 from the Collin County line north to the Oklahoma state line.
