Friday Evening - Partly cloudy this evening with ample convection from daytime heating. A few isolated to scattered thunderstorms are possible, but no severe weather is expected. Brief heavy downpours and a few lightning strikes are the main threats. Temperatures remain in the upper 70s to low 80s with light southeast winds.

Looking Ahead - More rain and storm chances are in the forecast this weekend. Severe weather threat at this time remains low through the weekend with wind and hail being the primary threats. Our first round of storms could arrive overnight Saturday into Sunday. However, things start to ramp up a bit next week. A slight risk (level 2 out of 5) for western parts of the viewing area on Monday. Tuesday holds another slight risk for southeastern Oklahoma. A dry line will be the source for storms in Texoma Monday and Tuesday. Additionally, a slight risk is in place for all of Texoma for Wednesday as a cold front sweeps through the region. All hazards appear possible for any storms Monday through Wednesday. Flash flooding remains a concern with continual threats of heavy rainfall rates over short periods of time. Turn Around, Don't Drown when you encounter a flooded road! Rainfall totals could reach 2-4" through midweek next week. Temperatures remain seasonable - in the 70s and 80s through the start of next week. A bit of a warm up looks possible by midweek next week with highs in the upper 80s. The first 90° day of the year could be in some Texoman's sights.
