(KTEN) — Oklahoma Attorney General Gentner Drummond issued a statement warning residents about a scam looking to separate them from their money.

Drummond said thieves are impersonating people in his office, telling callers they have won money. But the “winners” must pay a fee before gaining access to their “prize."

Drummond issued a statement saying:

“My office will never contact you to say you’ve won money, and we never demand payment over the phone. I implore Oklahomans to stay vigilant in protecting their personal and financial information from imposters.”

So far, no successful scams have been reported.
