SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Sherman police officers responded to a shooting incident in the 1800 block of Texoma Parkway on Sunday morning.

They found man a man wounded by gunfire near the Sherman Inn; he died later at a hospital.

Police arrested 40-year-old Rameon Jordan of Sherman on a murder charge.

The shooting happened not far from two Texoma Parkway restaurants.

"I've been here for two years, and it has never happened like this... definitely not comfortable with it," said Beault's Backyard owner Christopher Archambeault. "I hope people don't see this as a dangerous area."

"We never imagined that could happen behind our restaurant, behind our business," added El Olivo Mexican restaurant owner Anna Sanchez.

Sanchez said her employees are scared in the wake of the fatal gunfire, and are concerned for their safety while at work.
