VALLIANT, Oklahoma (KTEN)- KTEN confirmed on Tuesday that the Valliant Bulldogs have hired a new head football coach, and it's a familiar face.

Joe Jones is set to take over their football program. He had most recently been at Wynnewood from 2021 through last season.

He'll look to turn around a Valliant program that finished 3-7 a year ago.

In a statement provided to KTEN, Jones said that he is looking forward to his new opportunity at Valliant.

"My family and I are extremely excited about starting a new chapter for us at Valliant. I’m humbled by the vote of confidence and faith the Valliant administration and school board has shown selecting me as the next head football coach for the Valliant Bulldogs," Jones said. "I greatly appreciate the opportunity to lead the football program and believe that the pieces are in place to develop both short and long term success. There is a lot of athleticism at Valliant, and I look forward to working with the kids during spring football in May."
