DURANT, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The Oklahoma girls powerlifting meet took place in Durant on Monday, and a couple of our athletes secured podium finishes.

First up, Sulphur's Codi Reid came home third in the 136-pound weight class. She won her division's dead lift with a 345-pound lift.

Then it was stellar day for the Marietta Lady Indians.

Jordan Metcalf placed fourth in the 136-pound weight class, Melanie Ortiz came in third in the 198-pound weight division, and Graicee Hicks placed second in the deadlift in the heavyweight division.

That all culminated in Marietta finishing second overall in the large school standings.

And lastly, Ardmore's Octavia Hill stole the show, winning the 121 pound weight division, and finishing as the large school light weight lifter overall MVP.

She tied a state record in her class with a 295-pound squat, broke a state record by deadlifting 365 pounds, and broke another record by totaling 820 pounds lifted across her three events.

Congrats to Octavia and all our other local state lifters.
