OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The Caddo Lady Bruins came up just one step short of making it to back-to-back Class A state title games.

Their season came to an end on Friday in a 53-40 loss to Oklahoma Bible Academy in the semifinals.

Jaycie Nichols led the Lady Bruins with 12 points.

And despite the defeat, Caddo head coach Kolby Johnson said his squad has plenty to hold their heads high about.

"We lost three really good players off last year's team and a lot of people thought we might really take a step back,"  Johnson said. "But we had so many girls step up and they improved and they worked hard and we were really close to being right back where we were last year. We didn't play real well today, but we really worked hard to get back to where we were, and I'm super proud of them for what they did."
