SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — The Sherman Independent School District Board of Trustees met Friday once again behind closed doors with an attorney, with the exact same result.

Another special meeting will be scheduled for the board to continue speaking with lawyers about the investigation into the school's production of the musical Oklahoma!

In November, the district received backlash for telling students who were already assigned roles in the play that they were not allowed to portray characters that did not match their birth gender.

The board voted unanimously to reverse that decision and to reinstate the original cast.

However, the private investigation into how administrators handled these decisions has been ongoing for more than three months now.

Board representatives say they're unsure of when the next meeting will take place; that's all dependent on the availability of the district's legal representation.
