COLLINSVILLE, Texas (KTEN)- The Collinsville Lady Pirates are the lone UIL girls team left standing in the high school basketball playoffs in Texas.

Their run has been nothing short of incredible. On Tuesday, they trailed Lindsay by 11 in the third quarter before roaring back to claim the victory.

Against Bland in the first round, they were behind by 15 entering the fourth quarter. They came back to win that one in overtime.

It has all culminated in the Lady Pirates earning their first fourth round playoff appearance in school history. They'll play defending state champs Lipan on Friday.

(Note: The Lady Pirates run the 1956 state championship and were runners-up in 1958 but there was no regional tournament at that time so this is their first fourth round appearance)

But no matter what happens then, this journey has been a testament to the never say die attitude of this team.

"It has been all heart and hustle for these girls. We've come back from behind twice and shown some true perseverance," head coach Kailey Davidson said. "It has just been real amazing to watch them go to work and come out with victories."
