TISHOMINGO, Okla. (KTEN) — Former Tishomingo police officer Brandon LeDoux appeared in a Johnston County courtroom on Wednesday to face felony charges of lewd molestation and showing obscene material to a minor.

LeDoux was fired last week after an inquiry by the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation. He was arrested and placed in custody at the Pontotoc County Jail.

According to an affidavit from the Johnston County Sheriff's Office, LeDoux allegedly attempted to remove the bra of a female minor. He is also alleged to have touched her inappropriately on her thigh, "in a manner relating to sexual interest," leading to the lewd molestation charges. LeDoux is also accused of showing the girl under age 16 obscene material on his smartphone.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of more than 25 years if convicted. LeDoux's attorney declined to comment.

LeDoux is being held in the Pontotoc County Jail for security reasons. Bond was set at $200,000, and his next court date is on April 8.
