ALLEN, Okla. (KTEN) — KTEN can confirm that Allen Public Schools has hired Chad Elerick as its next head football coach.

Elerick has more than 10 years of coaching experience, although he has most recently been in private business as the owner of his own company.

Elerick replaces Matt McCreary, who finished 14-18 in his three seasons at Allen. McCreary resigned from his head football coaching duties after this past season.

In a statement to KTEN, Allen Principal Steve Butcher said the Mustangs are looking forward to welcoming Elerick as their new head football coach.

“We had 20 applicants for the position, and Coach Elerick was far and away the best candidate in the group based on his experience, his profession, and his ability to impact the lives of young people,” Butcher said. “He had an outstanding interview, and he was clearly the right person for Allen. We’re very excited that he’s coming.”
