SADLER, Texas (KTEN) — Investigators now say it was an argument between brothers at their home Sadler that ended with deadly gunfire last Friday.

The Grayson County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as 45-year-old Jimmy Kelly. Officials said Timmy Kelly, also 45, fired the fatal shot.

Witnesses said the two men had been arguing at the Campbell Road residence when Jimmy threatened his brother. Jimmy then went inside their home, came back with a rifle, and fired a shot at Timmy, according to those accounts.

Timmy Kelly returned fire with a single shot that killed Jimmy Kelly, the sheriff's office said.

Timmy Kelly has not been charged, but the case has been referred to the district attorney's office for review.
