DURANT, Oklahoma (KTEN)- High school football season may have wrapped up here in Texoma, but several of our local athletes were hard at work today as C4 Sports Performance held tryouts for its 7-on-7 teams in Durant.

Around 100 players ranging from 15U up to the 18U age group tried out running through a variety of drills. the 7-on-7 teams will go on to play in tournaments in the spring.

For C4 owner Sean Cooper, bringing the best players together from across Texoma has always been the vision as he heads into his sixth season running the program.

"That was the goal. Do it for the area. That's why we use the hashtag 'For The Area', the hashtag 'Recruit Texoma,'" Cooper said. "It was to do it for Texoma. It wasn't recruit C4, it was recruit Texoma and all the small town kids. To see these kids get out here and be able to compete with high-caliber athletes is one of the number one reasons we did it and one of the biggest benefits and one of the things we love."

Cooper is certainly accomplishing that goal. After the tryouts, C4 held a signing day for five of its athletes set to play at the next level including three of our local players.

Sulphur wide receiver DaMontre Patterson is off to New Hampshire after the bulldogs made a run to the state quarterfinals this year.

Denison safety Kenyan Kelly signed with UTSA. He was a first team all-district selection this year.

And lastly, Durant defensive end Xadavien Sims signed with Oregon. He will also play in the All-American Bowl coming up on January 6 at noon on KTEN.

We'll hear from all three athletes coming up this week on KTEN.
