DENISON, Texas (KTEN) Former Denison linebacker Reggie Hunt held tryouts for his TRU Hunt Performance 7-on-7 teams today up at Denison High School...

He has teams ranging from the 10u age bracket all the way up to 18u. They will compete in various tournaments starting in January and running through May.

After graduating from Denison, Hunt went on to play at TCU and eventually professionally in Canada.

Now, he's looking to make an impact on the nearly 200 players that showed up Sunday.

"It's very important for me to come back to Denison to give back to these kids the knowledge that I have learned throughout the years," Hunt said. "I wish I had those things when I was a young boy growing up in Denison, but I'm able to give back to these guys."

His players are certainly appreciative.

"I love it," Denison sophomore quarterback Axel Mitchell said. "He knows what he's talking about. He's a good man. He's a great coach."

"It's really cool especially because TCU is one of my favorite schools," Denison freshman receiver/safety Brandon Douglas added. "I've watched all his clips on YouTube. It's just a really cool experience."
