Church threat response course taught in Denison
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — An active shooter response organization taught a course in Denison on Saturday afternoon.
Protect His House is an organization that began helping church staff members secure their congregations from violent attacks.
With mass shootings happening all around the country, a group of people with military and law enforcement background came together to try and reduce these risks.
"I think it is eye-opening for many; they have never thought about evil coming to visit them in their house of worship, so they educate themselves," said instructor Howard Day.
Protect His House courses are taught in 23 different states around the nation, providing the most realistic and effective training to combat fear.
"I just wanted to be prepared in case something does happen," said a Pottsboro resident attending the course.
