(KTEN) – Fall officially arrived at 8:03 p.m. on September 22, and it certainly did not feel like autumn by any means.

On average, the start of fall sees a high temperature of 84 degrees. The temperature rose to 99 degrees on the afternoon of September 22, the second warmest start to the fall season on record.

2022 ranked as the second hottest start to Fall on record

As autumn rolls on, temperatures look to stay above average, but hopefully not into the 90s. The Climate Prediction Center believes we could be seeing above average temperatures through the end of the month and into October as a ridge of high pressure continues to dominate the western half of the United States, including Texoma.

Above average temperatures are forecast into October

Let's hope for cooler weather soon!
