Denison library hosts parent-child play shop
DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — For the next few weeks, the City of Denison and Grayson County are bringing resources to families in need during Parent-Child Play Shop at the city's library.
"It's just a fun time for the kids to play with all the different sensory activities that we have while the parents can network with other parents and also these professionals," said youth activities librarian Deborah Wise.
Grayson County Tiny Toes visited the library on Wednesday, giving parents information about their organization.
"Start out with stabilization of the family if they need that," said Rhonda Corley, Tiny Toes community navigator. "But our goal is to get our parents and teachers curriculum to the children. So we do developmental testing, home visits to make sure that all children are developmentally in line with other children their age."
The next guest will be a children's optometrist Thursday from 11 a.m. to noon at the Denison Public Library, at 300 West Gandy Street.
