SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) - On Monday, Sherman ISD hired Pottsboro native Jeff Cordell as the school's next athletic director.

Cordell most recently comes from Crane High School, where he was the head football coach and athletic director. However, Cordell is very familiar with Texoma. He played at Pottsboro and Austin College before leading Gainesville High School to a state title in 2003.

Sherman will be heading into a challenging district with eight other Frisco-area schools but Cordell has a plan in place to be successful.

"To me when relationships are built, the winning takes care of itself," said Cordell.
