DENISON, Texas (KTEN) — A woman was killed in a head-on crash in Denison early Sunday.

Denison police said 23-year-old Kristy Patti was driving south on Eisenhower Parkway when her vehicle crossed the median and struck a northbound car near South Fannin Avenue at 2:15 a.m.

Patti was thrown from her vehicle by the impact and was pronounced dead at the scene.

"She was a great person; still is, she's still with me," Makenzie Cooper, a friend of Patti. "She had so much going for her life, and she'll never be able to live it. She was amazing."

The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle were injured and hospitalized.

Police said this was the second fatal crash in Denison this year.
