CALERA, Okla. (KTEN) -- A Calera man who sought the position of Bryan County Sheriff last year is in trouble with the law.

On Tuesday, Chickasaw Lighthorse police arrested 53-year-old Charles Dale Boucher. A woman told police she had been assaulted by her husband at a residence in the 500 block of Platter Cutoff Road in Calera.

Boucher was arrested and taken to the Marshall County Jail.  Lighthorse police Chief Mike Manning said domestic violence charges are pending in Chickasaw Nation District Court.

Boucher was a candidate for Bryan County Sheriff in June 2020, finishing third in a field of three candidates.
