COLLINSVILLE, Texas -- Firefighters are trying to determine what triggered the blaze that engulfed a home in Collinsville on Tuesday evening.

The fire in the 1400 block of Boren Road was reported around 5:30 p.m. All family members were able to safely escape.

Firefighters from eight Grayson County departments were still battling the blaze three hours later, and said they expected to be there for several more hours.

The bitter cold wasn't helping their fight.

"Everything around the house that's concrete is now frozen with ice, so it's making it hard for the guys to stay stable, stay on their feet, and use a hose at the same time,"  Collinsville Fire Department Assistant Chief Damon Stewart said.

There was no hydrant near the burning house, so multiple fire trucks shuttled water from nearby hydrant.

The fire is believed to have started in the attic, but the cause remains under investigation.
