DICKSON, OK -- Dickson schools were on lockdown today after police say the school received a threatening phone call.

Carter County deputies and Dickson police surrounded the school with heavy artillery after police say school officials received a phone call stating, "you’re next."

Several parents at the school say they received an automated message letting them know they could not come get their kids until further notice.

Dickson students say they believed the threatening call stemmed from the national clown threats rumored on social media.

"I honestly could not tell you, because there are Instagram pages and Facebook pages saying they were just at Dickson, now they are going to other schools and all that good stuff so I guess we'll find out."

As of right now, the Dickson court clerk says Dickson schools are no longer on lockdown.
