Thursday Morning - All is quiet this morning, but that will change as we head into the afternoon. Temperatures in the 60s and 70s with light showers fizzling out over McCurtain county. Our severe weather threat has increased, now a level 2 out of 5 for the entire area.

Looking Ahead - Another round of severe storms returns 2PM to 11PM Thursday. Winds to 60-80 mph and quarter to golf ball sized hail are likely as storms arrive from the NW Thursday early afternoon. A level 2 risk is in place along and east of I-35. There is now a low but nonzero tornado threat and we have growing concerns for flooding. More storms are possible Friday, which could impact kickoff for Friday night football. Lightning will be a big concern. Rain and severe storm chances push through the weekend, with temperatures in the 80s and 90s. A cold front arrives Sunday, dropping temps into the 80s next week with clearing skies. Rainfall totals over the next 7 days could range from 1 - 2 inches with locally higher amounts.

Tracking the Tropics - Hurricane Nigel is expected to remain a fish storm out in the central Atlantic. There is a 40% chance within the next week that a coastal low forms along the Carolina coast. A tropical wave off the African coast have a 70% chance of formation in the next week.
