SHAWNEE, OK -- The Cottonwood Lady Panthers of Coalgate have nabbed themselves a state championship.

The seventh and eighth graders finished their season at 29-1 winning the schools first ever title.

They started their state tournament Thursday and roared their way to Saturday's state championship at Shawnee High School. There in a double overtime thriller, Cottonwood edged the Rocky Mountain Lady Rockets.

Macy Farris and Bless Roberts were both named to the state tournament all tournament team, and Taylor Barrett, head coach Mark Barrett's daughter, was named the most valuable player.
