Monday Evening - A Particularly Dangerous Situation (PDS) Tornado Watch has been hoisted for Carter, Murray, Garvin, and Pontotoc counties thru 11 PM tonight. Please stay tuned to the forecast as severe weather chances ramp up later this evening. All Texomans are under a threat for severe weather this evening. A VERY RARE level 5 out of 5 risk has been issued for the OKC area and goes as far south as Garvin County. Despite the risk level - whether it's 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5 - all are at risk for long-track violent tornadoes, destructive hail and damaging winds. Given the setup heading into this evening, when a storm develops, the severe risk will be high. The main threat kicks in around 7 PM - just please keep in mind storms could fire before then. Looking Ahead - Lingering severe weather chances follow Texoma into Tuesday with a level 1 out of 5 risk for McCurtain and Lamar counties with wind and hail being the main threats, but a low threat for tornadoes does exist. Texoma does it all over again as a cold front swings through Wednesday. A level 3 out of 5 risk is in place along/east of US 69/75 with a level 2 risk extending west to I-35 with all hazards appearing possible. Flash flooding remains a concern with continual threats of heavy rainfall rates over short periods of time. Turn Around, Don't Drown when you encounter a flooded road! Rainfall totals could reach 1-3" through midweek. Temperatures remain seasonable - in the 70s and 80s through the start of next week. A bit of a warm up looks possible by midweek next week with highs in the mid to upper 80s. The first 90° day of the year could be in some Texoman's sights. After the front, temperatures fall to the mid 70s with clearing conditions Friday. There is a low chance for some off/on showers/storms through the weekend.
