SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — Music lovers from all over Texoma felt the "Good Vibrations" at the 15th annual Lights on the Lake event in Sherman on Wednesday night.

"I graduated in 1969, and The Beach Boys were our favorite back then,” said one fan.

The Hot Summer Nights concert series has been rocking all summer long, but Wednesday night's lineup had extra special "Fun, Fun, Fun" for the whole family.

People spent the afternoon lining Pecan Grove Park with lawn chairs, coolers, and umbrellas, "California Dreaming" about who was gearing up to take the stage, eager to "Catch a Wave" with the legendary surf rockers.

"My wife and I came out here... we're — I guess you could call it — The Beach Boys generation," said another concert-goer.

It's music that many people believe is a perfect way to kick off celebrations for America's 248th birthday.

Even though the 4th of July is a time to celebrate, many Texoma veterans want to remind people to be grateful for the freedom and independence.

"Instead of buying fireworks, go buy some flowers and put them on a veteran's grave," said one Texoma veteran preparing to enjoy the music.

Wednesday's concert was followed by a fireworks spectacular.
