PARIS, Texas (KTEN) — A Paris police officer pulled over a vehicle driven by Erik Lynn Gilbert for a traffic violation along East Provine Street on Monday.

Gilbert, 43, told police he had a pipe for smoking narcotics. In the pipe, police say they found a small amount of methamphetamine.

More meth was found in Gilbert's vehicle, police said. He is charged with possession of a controlled substance.

Gilbert was freed Tuesday after posting a $5,000 bond.
