(KTEN) — Oklahoma lawmakers have approved House Bill 2915, authorizing the Oklahoma Department of Transportation to issue bonds to fund a new Roosevelt Bridge over Lake Texoma.

State Sen. David Bullard (R-District 6) co-authored the bill.

ODOT estimates replacing the 82-year-old span could cost up to $200 million.

Don't hold your breath; it may be 8 to 10 years for construction to begin.
