SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN) — US 75 was shut down for 10 hours on Wednesday after an 18-wheeler crashed and caught fire in Sherman.

The incident happened around 5 a.m. in a construction zone near Center Street. 

Sherman police said some cars were stuck on the highway while police cleared the scene. One motorist told KTEN it took almost two hours to get through the jam.

Both the northbound and southbound lanes of the highway were shut down until around 3 p.m. Wednesday.

No one was hurt.
