GUNTER, Texas (KTEN)- The Gunter Tigers find themselves in a familiar situation this week. This season marks the fourth-straight year they have advanced to the regional semifinals, but there will be no margin for error.

The Tigers will face Tatum in a one-game showdown Wednesday at 5:00. The winner will advance to the regional finals.

Last year at this stage, Gunter swept Tatum outscoring the Eagles 19-1 in two games.

The Tigers certainly have the arms to deliver another strong pitching performance too. Jake Ivey and Jarett Waggoner each threw no-hitters against Edgewood last week in the third round.

And considering Gunter has been here before, the Tigers are keeping things simple ahead of the most important seven innings of their season.

"You just get in those real nerve-wracking, tense situations and your mind starts playing tricks on you and you're thinking this could be the end of it, but once you've been there and done it, it helps you lock in to the game is not over until and it's over and you take everything one pitch at a time," Gunter head coach Daryl Hellman said. "That's kind of been the Gunter Tiger mindset for as long as I can remember. Just one pitch at a time because that's really what the game is about."
