(KTEN) — Texas Rep. Pat Fallon (R-District 4) is focused on getting military recruiters into schools.

The Recruiters on Campus Act would require high schools that receive federal funding to welcome military recruiters on campus.

Fallon says if a school denies a recruiter, they can report the school, which would then be at risk of losing federal funding.

"We need to have every young man and young woman in this country to have the knowledge and the options and knowing what the military can provide for them," Fallon said.

As a veteran himself, Fallon said it's important to supply the military with resources to find people who are willing to serve.
