SHERMAN, Texas (KTEN)- There was plenty of excitement on Tuesday in Sherman as six athletes signed their letters of intent to continue their careers at the collegiate level.

First up, there was a duo headed to Ranger College. Shamiah Johnson signed to play basketball for the Rangers after finishing her four year career at Sherman. Antonio Zamora will star on the diamond at Ranger after a season where he earned first team all-district baseball honors.

And while they'll be heading west, Savannah Schoen is staying put as she joins Austin College's cheer squad.

Evidently, Sherman has no shortage of talent on the pitch as the other three athletes that signed were all soccer stars.

Ava Godfredsen and goalkeeper Emma Sturm were a big part of Sherman's defense this year, and they are going to be staying teammates. Both are headed to Cisco Junior College.

Roman Quintana, meanwhile, will hope to keep scoring in Sherman but now for Austin College.

Congrats to all six athletes!
