NEW YORK (ABC News) — Former President Donald Trump is on trial in New York City, where he is facing felony charges related to a 2016 hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. It marks the first time in history that a former U.S. president has been tried on criminal charges.

Testimony from former Trump attorney Michael Cohen week has linked the former president to all aspects of a hush money scheme that prosecutors say was aimed at stifling stories that threatened his 2016 campaign. He's the prosecution’s star witness.

Trump’s lawyers are expected to get their chance at questioning Cohen on Tuesday afternoon.
