TIOGA, Texas ( KTEN) —  On Mother's Day, parts of Grayson, Cooke and Fannin counties experienced heavy rain and flash flooding, with accumulation reaching up to two inches in cities like Tioga.

Roads and homeowners' yards flooded throughout the afternoon due to the highly saturated ground caused by rainfall over the past two weeks.

"Whenever I came home from work this morning, most of the yards and the neighborhood were under water, and water was coming across the road," said Tioga resident Daniel Parker. "Water was still coming down then I was starting to hear roads closing and washing out. Hopefully, it wasn't going to go into people's homes."

Parker said heavy rain from the past two weeks has flooded his backyard completely and almost reached his front door.
