OKLAHOMA City, Oklahoma (KTEN)- The Caney Lady Cougars brought home their school's first-ever slowpitch state title on Wednesday with a narrow 4-3 victory over Lookeba-Sickles in the Class B state title game.

Leah Smith scored what ended up being the game-winning run on an RBI groundout by Hunter Alford in the top of the seventh.

Caney had been to the state tournament three years in a row before Wednesday but had never won it. Now, the Lady Cougars can celebrate.

"It feels surreal," Caney senior outfielder Leah Smith said. "Like it ain't real. I'm excited."

"This feels awesome," Alford said. "This is the first one we've ever had for Caney, and I'm glad to be a part of it."
