COLEMAN, Oklahoma (KTEN)- Six of our area teams were hoping to give themsevles a chance to end the week with a trophy as the Coleman baseball tournament got underway on Thursday.

In the first game, Calera run ruled Coleman 12-0.

Latta also run ruled Mill Creek 12-0. Deakon Smith hit a grand slam as the Panthers scored all their 12 runs in the first inning.

The third game of the day was by far the tightest. Caney's Ryan Wingo hit a go-ahead home run in the fourth inning as the Cougars held on for a nail-biting 3-2 win over Tishomingo.

On Friday, Calera will face Caney in the winners bracket, while Latta will square off with Wright City.

In the consolation bracket, Mill Creek will battle Battiest, while Coleman will take on Tishomingo.
