GUNTER, Texas (KTEN) - Tuesday night will help decide a district 11-3A girls basketball title between two familiar foes in Pottsboro and Gunter.

Gunter will host and the formula for the Lady Tigers is simple, win and they clinch the title outright.

"I think that it would be great to show that all the hard work that they've done, the preparation, the teamwork... I think it would be amazing for them to win it," said Gunter head coach Jordan Sarten.

The Lady Tigers won't want to change up their formula either, coming into this game winners of nine in a row.

"I think we really work well together," said Gunter sophomore guard Norah Layman. "Everybody wants to get somebody else a bucket."

On the other side, Pottsboro comes in with a 9-2 district record. A win for the Lady Cardinals could cause chaos, leading to a three-way tie with Bells entering the fold as well.

If Pottsboro learned anything from their 40-37 loss to Gunter in January, it is to focus on getting the little things right.

"When you play for coach Bates, you either play defense or you don't play at all," said Pottsboro senior Tessa De La Cruz. "If you can stop a player from scoring more points than you, you've won your matchup."

Tipoff is set for 6:15 p.m. at Gunter High School.
