Ardmore officer recognized for his service
ARDMORE, Okla. (KTEN) — Ardmore Police Department Cpl. Jared Johnson was recognized Monday by OG&E and the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Johnson is a recipient of February's OG&E Safety Partner award for his work as a K-9 officer and contributor to the department's criminal interdiction unit.
Along with Johnson's recognition, a $1,500 check was presented to APD.
"Based off of the hard work of myself and Riggs, but it's not just... it's not just about the two of us. It's the hard work of everybody in our department," Johnson said. "I'm glad that a portion of the money is going to be able to be used for the department."
Johnson will also be recognized at a Thunder game in Oklahoma City later this month.
