LEONARD, Texas (KTEN)- Bells and Whitesboro were both dealt tough losses to open the Leonard Holiday Tournament.

But they didn't dwell on them.

Both teams responded with two straight victories to book their place in the consolation bracket championship.

And after a back-and-forth battle, Bells pulled away in the end for a 50-44 victory. Avery Taraba led the Lady Panthers with 16 points.

Bells will be back in action this Tuesday as the Lady Panthers host Howe. Whitesboro will also be in action then with a home game against Boyd.
