HOWE, Texas (KTEN) — The City of Howe is switching water sources while the city's well is under repair.

"Unfortunately, we're having a water tower situation where it needs some repairs," interim city administrator Monte Walker said. "And so in order to serve the community on the east side of 75, we've got to reintroduce that surface water."

Surface water Howe purchased sat unused for 20 years before the city introduced it last year.

But they returned to well water several months ago amid water quality complaints.

Repairs to the well will begin on Friday. and could last two to four weeks.

Anyone with contaminated or discolored water is encouraged to contact the city at (903) 532-5571.
