BONHAM, Texas (KTEN) — The Fannin County Sheriff's Office has released new details about the two prisoners who escaped from jail over the weekend.

Ramon Perez and Raymond Ross fled on Saturday night and were seen on video headed into the surrounding wooded area.

The sheriff's office does not think the escapees are armed, but warn civilians not to confront them and to contact authorities if they are spotted.

Raymond Ross (left) and Ramon Perez escaped from the Fannin County Jail on November 25, 2023.

The search is concentrated on Grayson, Lamar, and Fannin counties; investigators believe the pair may have lived in these locations, or have family ties there.

"Not saying that they couldn't go to the Metroplex or Collin County or other places, but we're still looking, and we're chasing every lead we find," said Lt. Frank Deater.

Ross was jailed for drug possession, evading arrest with a motor vehicle, and possessing a firearm as a felon.

Perez was behind bars for aggravated sexual assault of a child.

Officials haven't yet said how the pair managed to escape.
