DURANT, Okla. (KTEN) — Some Durant youngsters had a surprise visit from Disney characters on Monday morning during an interactive story hour at The Kids' Playspace.

Disney princess Belle and the Beast were special guests. reading the famous folk tale to the children and finishing with a ballroom dance.

"Today went great," said Kids' Playspace staffer Kendra Minchey. "I was surprised about how many little ones loved the Beast; I thought there would be a lot of tears, but there really wasn't... they had a lot of fun, and we're just thankful for the two people who were able to come and participate and be Belle and the Beast for us."

The Childrens' Playspace will have events Tuesday and Wednesday during Thanksgiving break, and are planning a Christmas event next month.
